John Dickerson Likely To Take Charlie Rose Chair On 'CBS This Morning'

CBS Aims to Boost Video-Streaming News Hub CBSN in 2018

John Dickerson, the anchor of CBS' Sunday news show Face the Nation, will join Norah O'Donnell and Gayle King as CBS This Morning's third host, CBS News president David Rhodes announced Tuesday. He would be taking over for Charlie Rose, who got fired by CBS in November in the wake of a Washington Post report detailing his unwanted sexual advances and misconduct involving eight women at his PBS interview program.

"John's impressive track record and strong all-around journalism extends our commitment to real news coverage every morning at CBS News", Rhodes said.

Dickerson is no stranger to CBS-he's hosted Face the Nation since 2015 and served as the network's political director.

"This has to be the most popular decision that NBC News has ever made", said "Today" co-anchor Savannah Guthrie last week. It's not clear if Dickerson will continue to host the program after he joins "CBS This Morning".

HTC Vive WiGig Wireless Upgrade Is Coming In Q3 2018
Unlike any other platform, you'll be able to demo VR games in the VR world through the Vive headset prior to purchasing a title. The unit is supposed to be available to existing owners this quarter, with a standalone bundle to come later in the year.

Rose apologized "for my inappropriate behavior" and said "I am greatly embarrassed". Television year-to-date, CBS THIS MORNING is delivering CBS its second highest morning audience in three decades, surpassed only by 2016's election influenced performance. Hill was later replaced by Norah O'Donnell, and now Dickerson will replace Rose, making King the only original host. But with "CBS This Morning", the network is in a better competitive position against "Today" and "GMA" than ever before. Will the addition of Dickerson cause new viewers to sample the show and help grow the overall audience?

CBS journalist John Dickerson met comedian Stephen Colbert on the floor of the 2016 Republican National Convention for CBS's The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in Cleveland, Ohio.

NBC News had a similar morning show problem with Matt Lauer, giving him the sack from Today show only about a week after CBS News jettisoned Rose.
