Donald Trump assails 'Fake Book' as allies hail 'political genius'

US President Donald Trump walks to Marine One before leaving the White House

"It reads like an angry vindictive person spouting off to a highly discreditable author", Miller said, adding, "The book is best understood as a work of very poorly written fiction and I will also say that the author is a garbage author of a garbage book".

Bandy Lee, the Yale psychiatrist who last month traveled to Capitol Hill to meet with a group of Democratic lawmakers - and one Republican - to brief them on Trump's mental health, told Vox's Eliza Barclay recently that she believes special counsel Robert Mueller's indictments brought about a "mental health crisis" for Trump, who is not able to cope well with ordinary stresses.

Bannon's comments led to a falling out with President Trump, who said Bannon "lost his mind" after leaving the White House past year.

"These are from people who just have not accepted the fact that President Trump is the United States president and I'm sorry for them and that", Pompeo told "Fox News Sunday". She did not give a date, or say whether it would be a full state visit or a lower-key working trip.

But he said Mr Trump did not appear angry.

A day earlier, pushing back at Wolff's suggestion that he lacked stability, Trump called himself a "very stable genius".

The White House has taken issue with the claims in Wolff's book since excerpts of it began to surface online ahead of its publication, with press secretary Sarah Sanders calling it "complete fantasy" and an attorney for Trump sending a "cease and desist" threat to the book's author and publisher.

Transport workers in TN reject Madras HC direction to call off strike
The commuters complained that auto rickshaws and taxis charged exorbitant fares as the public transport system was hit. The minister said, "I appeal to employees to come back for duty, honorable court has also asked them to come back".

In "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White" journalist Michael Wolff's report of the internal workings of the West Wing, Bannon is quoted as saying that Trump Jr.'s meeting with a Russian attorney in the summer of 2016 - where he was joined by top campaign staffers Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort - was "treasonous". "The libel laws are very weak in this country". Wolff acknowledged that he never spoke with Trump inside the Oval Office.

White House Chief of Staff John Kelly told reporters at Camp David that he had not been aware of Trump's morning tweets.

"I don't know this man".

U.S. President Donald Trump's former strategist Steve Bannon on Sunday backed away from derogatory comments ascribed to him about Trump's son in a new book that sparked White House outrage and could threaten Bannon's influence as a would-be conservative power broker.

Bannon said he still supported Trump, whose public break with his one-time strategist and use of a derisive nickname for him, "Sloppy Steve", reflected the depth of the president's anger.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, D-Md., said in a statement shortly before the vote that while "legitimate questions have been raised about his fitness to lead this nation", they argued "now is not the time to consider articles of impeachment". Kelly said Trump did not seem angry and on Friday night had watched a new movie, "The Greatest Showman" about legendary circus promoter P.T. Barnum, with the lawmakers. He said "it's something certainly that I'd like to see happen".

White House officials and Trump's high-profile supporters have launched an effort to raise doubts about Wolff's credibility.
