Mariota, Titans mount second half comeback, beat Chiefs 22-21

NFL Playoffs Begin This Evening.

The Titans mounted a furious second-half comeback, led by quarterback Marcus Mariota, who went 19-31 with 205 yards and 2 touchdowns, and running back Derrick Henry who rushed for 156 yards on 23 carries.

The NFL playoffs get started Saturday with a doubleheader starting in Kansas City, where the Chiefs will try to beat Tennessee for their first home postseason win in almost a quarter century. The Titans went for two, and safety Daniel Sorensen had ahold of Marcus Mariota as he scrambled.

The Titans then ran out the clock and the Chiefs' season once again came to a heartbreaking halt at home despite forcing two turnovers and not committing one themselves.

Mariota, whose pass was batted by Darrelle Revis, snagged the ball and dove into the end zone, capping a 15-play, 91-yard drive that lasted 8½ minutes.

His counterpart, Marcus Mariota, was 7 of 13 for 82 yards with no touchdowns and an interception.

Henry started for the second consecutive game in place of DeMarco Murray, who is sidelined by a knee injury.

When Is 'Game Of Thrones' Season 8 Premiering?
At last, HBO has confirmed the long-speculated news that its flagship hit series Game of Thrones is taking a year off. In the other news, GOT fans who are disappointed with the delayed release of the show, here's something to cheer up.

If not for a road win over the Houston Texans a couple of years ago, the Chiefs would still be searching for their first postseason victory of any kind since that home win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Tennessee's divisional-round opponent depends on the outcome of Sunday's Buffalo Bills-Jacksonville Jaguars game. The Chiefs finished the drive with a touchdown.

After leading the Chiefs to a 21-3 halftime lead over Tennessee, the veteran quarterback watched in horror as everything unraveled.

QB Alex Smith and the Chiefs offense drove down the field on that drive and got seven more points on a DeMarcus Robinson touchdown reception.

On the Chiefs' ensuring drive, tight end Travis Kelce appeared to lose the ball on a hit by Johnathan Cyprien.

Dick LeBeau's defense forced yet another punt on the ensuing Chiefs possession, and the Titans embarked on yet another long scoring drive, this time going 80 yards on 11 plays and ate up just over five minutes of game time. Kelce was wobbly getting up, and ruled out for the game with a concussion. The crowd went wild as fireworks popped over Arrowhead Stadium - until replays showed that Henry was down. But the play was blown dead by the officials, so even though Justin Houston picked up the fumble, the Titans got a chance to kick a field goal.
