Failed missile test hits North Korean town

"The Diplomat explained how the liquid-fueled missile likely crashed and caused a "large explosion" in the city, and from Google Earth images, it looks like the crash site was very close to residential and commercial buildings". The report also draws attention to seeming structural damage to one of the buildings.

And new reports would suggest that those fears may have come true.

As for what this means for the US, the Diplomat explained that rather than coming from known launch pads, DPRK missiles may originate from hardened tunnels, hangers or other newly constructed storage sites scattered all around the country, which has added to and diversified its list of launch points.

"The ICBM Hwasong-15 type weaponry system is an intercontinental ballistic rocket tipped with super-large heavy warhead. which is capable of striking the whole mainland of the U.S", North Korea's Central News Agency, a mouthpiece of the communist party, said on November 29.

According to the report the missile never rose higher than 70km before crashing into either industrial or agricultural buildings. Problem arose when its engines failed only minute into the flight, it has been said.

However, the cold relationship between South Korea and the North showed signs of thawing in the beginning of 2018.

North Korea used technology from the Hwasong-12 to develop the intercontinental ballistic missile Hwasong-14 and the Hwasong-15 later in the year.

The IMA has 2.77 lakh members, which includes corporate hospitals, poly-clinics and nursing homes, across the country. Modern medicine doctors are opposing the draft NMC Bill 2017 that was approved by the Centre last week.

North Korea's incessant missile testing throughout 2017 escalated tension with the US; and by the looks of it, 2018 is not going to be any better. And this missile is one Kim Jong-un has bragged about - remember the military parade with missiles ushered down the streets of Pyongyang in April?

North Korea has completed other tests in the past year and recently received new United Nations sanctions over its sixth and most powerful nuclear test explosion and a series of intercontinental ballistic missile launches. In his New Year's Day message, Kim Jong Un said that the nuclear button is always in his reach.

It is thought if the missile had been successful it should have landed in the northern parts of the Sea of Japan. The first launch in 2012 had failed to accomplish that.

The missile launch went largely unnoticed due to its failure, but concerns were raised in Washington about the risk of an accidental conflict starting in the event of a similar such failure. "The nuclear-armed North has insisted its aim was to place a scientific satellite in space". "The other could be to use the pro forma launch of a satellite into space to test whether the missile was capable of re-entry into the atmosphere".

The intermediate-range ballistic missile, or IRBM, is capable of reaching the US territory of Guam.

"This is a very big missile", Michael Duitsman, a research associate at the Centre for Nonproliferation Studies, said in an analysis posted to Twitter.

In a Tweet, US President Donald Trump said the talks were a "good thing" and claimed credit for the step.
