Sam Darnold gives Browns hope - with a reservation

Josh Rosen

ESPN reported this past weekend that Rosen would be hesitant to declare for the 2018 National Football League draft if he knew that the Browns would select him with the No. 1 overall pick. In addition, Mel Kiper Jr. ranks the Trojans quarterback as the draft's fifth best prospect and second-best quarterback behind Rosen.

I'll go ahead and decode this one for all of you. That out the way, the redshirt sophomore is playing something of the anti-Josh Rosen in this situation.

Now with a concussion holding out Rosen and the expectation that there will be no new game tape of him coming out of UCLA teams are on the clock to determine their take on his personality and love for the game. Fortunately for the Browns, Darnold just made taking him a lot easier as he won't put up a fuss like Rosen would if selected by the team with the top pick.

ESPN's Adam Schefter, citing league sources, reported Sunday morning that Rosen would prefer to land in NY with the Giants rather than end up in Cleveland where the Browns have started 28 different quarterbacks since 1999.

Woman Jailed For Three Years For Carrying Painkillers
Jayne Synclair said her sister was in court on Christmas Day but the judge adjourned the case for a day because of her condition. Although legal in Britain, Tramadol is banned in Egypt and several other countries due to its abuse as a heroine substitute.

Neither quarterback has to enter the draft. NY would clinch no worse than the No. 2 pick with losses in each of its last two games.

As it turns out, however, Rosen may not need to fear a potential future in Cleveland. Carson Wentz, Jared Goff, Dak Prescott, and Deshaun Watson were all passed on by Cleveland in the last two years.

After sending USC's Sam Darnold to Cleveland Browns at No. 1 overall instead of UCLA's Josh Rosen (No. 2 overall, New York Giants), this mock has the Indianapolis Colts eschewing much bigger needs elsewhere on both sides of the ball to draft Penn State running back Saquon Barkley.

Cleveland is expected to draft a quarterback with DeShone Kizer's limited success as a rookie and the play of Cody Kessler not all that impressive.
