How to Play the New Zelda DLC Right Now

During the Breath of the Wild GDC 2017 panel in March, members of the Zelda development team showed off a host of concept art for potential Link's they dreamed up ahead of BotW's development.

Nintendo surprised everyone over the night by releasing the second major DLC expansion for the incredibly popular Switch and Wii:U game: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. That's okay, though, because it still provides a powerful buff that will help players tackle the main trials presented in the Champions' Ballad DLC, where defense ratings ultimately count for nothing.

But perhaps of more interest to the players is Link's new ride. In The Champions' Ballad downloadable content pack players will tackle a never-before-seen dungeon, defeat enemies using the One-Hit Obliterator, and explore new shrines. Called the Master Cycle Zero, the ride has a somewhat steampunk design.

During his acceptance speech, Nintendo's Eiji Aonuma said, "I want to take all of the joy and warmth I'm feeling right now receiving this award and put that back into making Zelda games".

"Silence Breakers" picked as Time magazine's Person of the Year
Time's announcement was made Wednesday on NBC's " Today " show, where longtime host Matt Lauer was sacked last week amid harassment allegations.

And for everything you need to know about The Legend of Zelda's latest expansion, be sure to check out IGN's Breath of the Wild wiki guide, including a how-to on actually accessing the new Zelda DLC.

Other award winning games included Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, which won Best Action Game; What Remains of Edith Finch, which earned Best Narrative; and Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, which was given the award for Games for Impact and Best Performance to actress Melina Juergens who played the title character. The game was praised for its open-ended nature and for its physics-driven gameplay.

Nintendo didn't just reveal The Champions' Ballad at The Game Awards.
