Carrie Underwood breaks her wrist in fall at home

In a statement Sunday on Twitter, the 34-year-old country singer thanked her fans for messages of support following her fall Friday night.

And now Carrie Underwood is currently recuperating after being hospitalized for a broken wrist after a fall on the steps outside her home.

However, she didn't suffer any life-threatening injuries just multiple injuries including cuts, abrasions, and a broken wrist.

The doctors made a decision to release her from the hospital not long after they put a cast on her wrist.

The statement said that Underwood's recovery will "take some time" and that the singer "appreciates all prayers and well wishes".

The former athlete, who claims to be "angry", wants to "just bring change" so that young gymnasts "never have to live this again". Last month, McKayla Maroney , 21, detailed how Nassar began molesting her at the age of 13 at a USA national team training camp.

"I'll be alright", she posted.

Her injury comes just days after she hosted the CMA Awards with Brad Paisley for a tenth consecutive year. In addition to Underwood, other artists on the lineup include George Strait, Jason Aldean, Sam Hunt, Dierks Bentley, Chris Stapleton, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire and Keith Urban.

Underwood's husband, retired National Hockey League star Mike Fisher, was able to make it back to Nashville the same night to tend to his ailing wife.

Due to her injuries, Underwood was forced to cancel her performance at the Country Rising benefit concert tonight in Nashville, according to the Tennessean.
