Ford Recalling 1.3 Million Pickups Over Door Issue

2017 Ford Super Duty

Ford is recalling 1.3 million F-series pickup trucks, the best selling vehicle in America, for a door latch problem that could allow the door to open while the truck is moving. Ford testing shows that the faulty latches are failing after exposure to water, which could cause the door to open randomly. The majority of the trucks are in the United States, but some are located in Canada and Mexico as well.

The company said it is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the issue.

Dealers are to install the water shields and make repairs, if needed, for free.

A Ford spokeswoman, Elizabeth Weigandt, said customers would be notified next month but did not have a timetable for when parts will be available.

Google Maps kills off its new calorie counter
Basically, it wants to try to encourage you to walk instead of driving by showing you how many calories you'd burn. Citymapper , for example, has a calorie estimate feature.

When that happens, a door may appear closed, but the latch might not be engaged, creating the risk that the door could open while driving.

Following the typical pattern for recalls, notices will be sent out to owners, who will then be able to go to Ford dealerships to have the problem fixed. Ford said it continues to expect full-year adjusted earnings in the range of $1.65 to $1.85‍ per share.

Ford Motor Company is issuing a safety recall in North America.

In September, Ford sold 82,302 F-Series trucks, up 21.4 percent from a year earlier.
