Kenya: Nasa, Jubilee Supporters Face Off in London

Raila Odinga still in the race- Orengo tells Uhuru

Two protesters were shot dead Friday as opposition supporters clashed with police in western Kenya, with hundreds defying a ban on rallies to express their anger over an increasingly uncertain presidential election.

Around 20 youths attempted to take over the station during an otherwise peaceful rally in the town of Bondo in the southwest county of Siaya, forcing officers to open fire, County Commissioner Josephine Onunga said by phone. A statement by national police spokesman George Kinoti said a crowd of about 2,000 people threw rocks at the police station and robbed shops, leading to the shooting, which is being investigated.

The country's Supreme Court annulled the results of an August 8 election - won by President Uhuru Kenyatta - citing irregularities in the counting process and mismanagement by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

The Opposition maintains he will not participate in the October 26 poll which is just thirteen days away, but he won't formally quit.

The decision was a rare victory for Odinga, a veteran opposition leader who failed to win election in 1997, 2007 and 2013, claiming to have been cheated of victory in the latter two votes.

Odinga told Reuters news agency that he might consider returning to the Supreme Court for clarification on whether the October 26 poll was legal. If the government and electoral commission are "ready to do business and deal, we are ready to jump in the field", he said.

Get flu shot now for best protection
The quadrivalent vaccines are created to protect against the already mentioned viruses plus an additional B virus. In Idaho, a state resident has died in what health officials are saying is their first flu death of the season.

In Nairobi, police fired tear gas as opposition supporters tried to march to city centre.

"We are asking Uhuru's government to. let us protest in peace and truth and we are saying we want change and we do not want Uhuru and his people", said protester Mellen Kirumbo.

Later, the Nasa protesters went to Chatham House where they faced off with Jubilee supports.

The injured are admitted at Relief Hospital. Three had gunshot wounds, said superintendent Juliana Otieno.

"A lot of those provocations or demonstrations taking place are an attempt to create the appearance of a crisis", he said.
