Trump Picks Top White House Aide to run Homeland Security

It's Not Me, It's You: John Kelly Lectures The Press To 'Get Better Sources'

White House Chief of Staff John Kelly said Thursday the North Korean nuclear and missile threat is "manageable" for now but the isolated nation can't be allowed to develop the ability to strike the USA homeland.

"It's amusing, I read in the paper-you all know, you write it-that I have been a failure at controlling the president or a failure at controlling his tweeting and all that", Kelly said.

"I think perhaps I feel stronger and tougher on that subject than other people", Trump said in the Oval Office.

Neither the White House nor Nielsen responded to requests for comment. Another caught Kelly with his head in his hands during the president's address to the United Nations general assembly.

"All of you", he told the White House press corps.

Trump says Tillerson could be tougher, but they have good relationship
Trump on Saturday denied a frayed relationship with Tillerson but said he sometimes wishes Tillerson would be "tougher". Also around this time, Trump made a politicized speech to the Boy Scouts of America , which Tillerson once led.

"As I said when I first started talking, again, I am a reasonable guy, but when I read. watch TV in the morning, it is astounding to me about how much is misreported. All of you. Not all of you, but many of you", Kelly replied to one journalist during the surprise appearance. "Not all of you, but many of you".

But he offered the assembled reporters a piece of advice: "Maybe develop some better sources".

When asked what frustrates the president, Kelly laughed and said he thought that it was the media.

"Right now we think the threat is manageable, but over time, if it grows beyond where it is today, let's hope that diplomacy works", Kelly said. Kelly said Americans should be "concerned" about North Korea since it has developed an intercontinental ballistic missile capability and is developing a vehicle that would allow a missile to survive re-entry into the earth's atmosphere. He previously served just over six months as Secretary of Homeland Security. "This is really, really hard work - running the United States of America". President Donald Trump is reportedly planning to nominate Nielsen to succeed Kelly as secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. The chief of staff did so with a smile and a salute.
