Two students were stabbed, one fatally, at a Bronx school

Tomas E. Gaston

McCree's killing is the first inside a New York City public school in more than two decades.

The young child was pronounced dead at St. Barnabas Hospital with injuries to the chest, and the other teen was transported to the hospital "in grave condition" with wounds in the arm and torso.

Cedeno struck both McCree and Laboy with a 3-inch, spring-action switchblade knife, then walked out into the hallway, where a counselor confiscated the weapon, NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said.

Mayor Bill de Blasio said that "all of our hearts are very right now", noting that all parents worry about the safety of their children every morning.

The suspect had been involved with an escalating "back-and-forth" with the victims for the past two weeks, Boyce said.

Matthew McCree, 15, was killed after being stabbed in the chest with a switchblade.

Police say the 18-year-old was taken into custody, but it's not yet clear what prompted the attack.

The school shares a building with P.S. 67, which includes preschool to fifth grade.

The Post spoke with one of Cedeno's friends, identified only as Tanaisha B, who said that Cedeno became frustrated after being bullied for being "flamboyant".

Cedeno was charged Thursday with murder and weapon possession.

On the first play of the second half, Rodgers connected with tight end Lance Kendricks , who broke a tackle and gained 34. Lewis said he was proud of their gesture. "They're re-directing things we're doing and re-developing different things".

The 18-year-old has been arrested and is being held at a local police precinct, although charges have not yet been issued, sources told the newspaper.

The incident took place about 30 minutes into a history class in front of at least 15 other students.

The Walton Family Foundation, the philanthropy governed by the family behind Walmart, pledged Tuesday to invest $2.2 million over the next two years in new charter schools in New York City that aim to be socioeconomically diverse.

Sources tell NY1 Arian Laboy, 16, was also stabbed and rushed to the hospital, where he is in critical condition.

"Two of my students got stabbed and one of them died", Sampson told the NY Times.

Jaffe said that it was determined that Urban Assembly did not need metal detectors, noting that roughly 75 to 78 schools in the city have "some type of scanning".

According to police sources, Cedeno never said a word to cops about why he was targeted by McCree, Laboy and other classmates since school began September 7.

"Heard he was being harassed", she said.

"I tried to called the school".

The school dismissed classes early but planned to reopen Thursday. She plans to pull her daughters out of school.
