Darren Sproles' season over after dual injuries on same play

Wendell Smallwood is a must-add in all leagues

Sproles was injured in the first half against the New York Giants following an awkward plant and hit from safety Darian Thompson. He is expected to have surgery today on his arm.

Sproles also tore his ACL on the same play and will have surgery on his knee at a later date. Sproles is out for the season.

The Cowboys play the Eagles Nov. 19 in Arlington and December 31 in Philadelphia. On a second-and-11 play with just under 14 minutes left to play second quarter, Sproles took a handoff from Carson Wentz and ran left. As Sproles went to the ground, Thompson's foot inadvertently slammed into Sproles right arm. He walked off the field on his own power but was slated for an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of his injuries.

Sproles is among the NFL's all-time leading players in all-purpose yards and is one of the Eagles' most important players.

China to limit oil exports to North Korea
Later, the China Earthquake Administration revised its estimation, saying the quake was not a nuclear detonation. The president's office did add that "analysis is still ongoing so we will keep you posted".

Sproles, who is likely lost for the season, leads all active National Football League players with 19,155 career all-purpose yards.

"[My family] wanted me to [retire] this year".

The three-time Pro Bowl selection was a fourth round pick by the San Diego Chargers in the 2005 NFL Draft.

That wasn't a commitment that he would play, so it remains to be seen what Sproles will do, particularly in the wake of the injuries. In his absence, the Eagles will rely on LeGarrette Blount and Wendall Smallwood.
