IOS 11 deals a blow to Uber's creepy location tracking habit

IKEA's Place ARKit App Hits the App Store

In Apple's detailed documentation, it is clearly stated that iOS 11's Control Center doesn't let you turn off Wi-Fi or Bluetooth completely so that users can take advantage of iOS 11's other important functions.

The radios themselves, however, will keep humming in the background in a low-power state.

As another security researcher pointed out however, this issue has not simply been an Apple problem as Android has had its own issues of always-on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

To completely disable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for all networks and devices, go to Settings tap on Wi-Fi and turn of Wi-Fi completely. Wi-Fi is also re-enabled if you walk or drive to a new location.

United Kingdom to offer €20bn for Brexit divorce bill, report says
Switzerland pays for access to the single market. "No. of course not, we're going to deliver a fantastic Brexit", he said. The foreign secretary said: "Not me, guv".

Now, with the new iOS 11 version of the app, the "while using the app" option has returned (via BusinessInsider). Doing so on the brightness indicator gets you straight to Night Shift and more.

The iOS 11 keyboard defaults to full-screen, but if you want to type with one hand, just hold your thumb down on the emoji icon in your keyboard. It extends battery life and improves cellular connection. Among the "hidden" new capabilities described today in Business Insider: the ability to transfer settings from one device to another; customize the appearance of the Control Center; share personal WiFi hotspots with others via Bluetooth; and record on-screen images via a built-in screen recorder. And the same goes for Bluetooth. But while there are plenty of flashy changes in the new update, numerous most worthwhile improvements are tucked away deep in the software, like the ability to permanently silence those annoying in-app review prompts. Apple released a statement letting us know that they are working closely with Microsoft to resolve the bug.

Turning off Wi-Fi or Bluetooth once we no longer use it has become a commonplace. The company says both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth will continue to work after their toggles are moved to the off position so that you can use certain features, such as the file-transferring AirDrop, the Apple pencil and Watch, Handoff, Instant Hotspots, and Location Services.

The feature is also applicable for those using the iPhone with mac OS High Sierra.
