Sri Lanka has pride to play for

India cricket

Captain Virat Kohli on Sunday expressed his satisfaction after India mauled Sri Lanka by six wickets in the fifth and final one-day worldwide in Colombo to complete their 5-0 series whitewash.

India sealed a 5-0 whitewash against Sri Lanka today, courtesy of yet another century from skipper Virat Kohli.

Kohli and Jadhav shared in a fourth-wicket stand of 109 while the India skipper also had a 99-run partnership with Manish Pandey (36) for the third wicket.

President Trump, first lady visit Harvey flood areas for second time
About 100,000 homes were damaged by the storm, White House Homeland Security Adviser Tom Bossert said late last week. Trump also signed an amended disaster declaration to help Texas deal with the aftermath of Harvey.

The islanders were looking for the elusive victory which would seal their qualification for the 2019 ICC World Cup but will now have to wait for the results of West Indies' limited-overs clashes against England and Ireland to learn their fate. We were not consistent, but only these players can get out of this. Bhuvneshwar Kumar too has not been impressive with the ball, failing to pick up a single wicket in the three ODIs he has played even though he did play a stellar knock in second ODI to help MS Dhoni snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

"It's quite incredible to have won the series 5-0", said Kohli during the post-match presentation."We always thought the shorter format is going to be much more challenging. That's not something that you aim for but obviously he's a great player and as batsmen we all respect what these legends have done", said Kohli in the post-match press conference. However, Lahiru Thirimane (67) and Angelo Mathews (55) steadied the innings and they took the hosts on course of a big first-inning score. Openers Rohit Sharma (16) and Ajinkya Rahane (5) disappointed going back early. Now, there is only Sachin Tendulkar, who is ahead of Virat Kohli in the race. How low can this year go for the Sri Lankan team? Kohli said the good show in Sri Lanka will boost the confidence of his side when they take on Steve Smith's men.

In the bowling department, pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Shardul Thakur, along with the young left-arm spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel, will once again aim to shatter the inexperienced home batting line-up. Spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav picked up a wicket each. He, now, ranks fourth and trails Australia's Adam Gilchrist (417), South Africa's Mark Boucher (402), Sri Lanka's Sangakkara (383). The Islanders, meanwhile, are concentrating on winning their next match against India.
