Koreans' LPGA winning streak ends at 5

Stacy Lewis

Chun sank her par putt, leaving Lewis with one final bit of work to do.

Perhaps the biggest hole of the day for Lewis came at the hard 17th when she hit her approach over the green and saved par after chipping 7 feet past the hole.

Lewis had four birdies and a bogey over the first seven holes, then made all pars the rest of the way. But a bogey five holes later dropped her into a tie at 10-under with the other two.

Although it wasn't the finish Ai Miyazato wanted, bogeying the 72nd hole Sunday in Portland after an otherwise flawless final round, she still left the Cambia Portland Classic presented by JTBC, an event she won in 2010, with her head held high.

The 32-year-old Japanese will call it a career after taking part in the September 14-17 Evian Championship in France.

Chun shot a 68 while Lewis had a 64. Everybody talks about it.

Lewis played brilliant, inspired golf breaking through to end her three-year winless spell. To make that up-and-down on 17 and then to hit that shot out of the bunker on 18, it's something you dream about'.

"When I said that, I had the goal of winning the tournament", Lewis said. "It puts things in perspective and I have been motivated and more appreciative".

Rain from Harvey to hit MA this weekend
Although clouds are predicted for Saturday, forecasters said Sunday and Monday are projected to be sunny and warm. Harvey , now a tropical storm, made a second USA landfall this morning, just west of Cameron, Louisiana.

Jutanugarn briefly flirted with the lead after making six birdies on the first 10 holes.

But the 32-year-old finally got over the line to lift the 12th LPGA title of her stellar career, and she is projected to jump to fifth place in the Race to CME Globe standings.

"I think just keep everything the same".

"I feel like I have a solid game plan", she said. "Back nine just a little rush, a little rough sometimes. To do it when I added pressure to myself is a pretty good, pretty cool deal".

Lewis pledged before the tournament that she would give her prize money to those affected by Hurricane Harvey in Houston, where she and her husband - University of Houston women's golf coach Gerrod Chadwell - have a house in the north east of the city.

Lewis rebounded from a bogey at the par-3 16th with a 5-foot birdie putt at the hard par-4 17th.

Prior to the tournament she signalled her intentions via twitter, and was nearly overcome with emotion as she came to terms with what she'd accomplished. Lexi Thompson is playing the Portland Classic for the first time.
