5.6-magnitude quake detected in North Korea

North Korea Reveals Shocking Images Of Possible H-Bomb Warhead

Meanwhile, the photos that were provided by the North Korean government indicated that Kim Jong Un was seen speaking to his lieutenants while he's observing a silver, seemingly peanut-shaped object, which was deemed as the thermonuclear weapon that is destined for an ICBM.

Under its leader Kim Jong Un, North Korea has pursued work on building nuclear weapons and long-range ballistic missiles that can deliver them at an unprecedented pace, defying UN sanctions and worldwide pressure.

The weather agency said the North's artificial quake on Sunday is about 5 to 6 times more powerful than the fifth nuclear test previous year.

North Korea conducted its fifth test last September.

While it was initially reported that the tremor was of magnitude 5.6, the USGS has then revised it to 6.3.

In Japan, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said he "would not tolerate" another nuclear test.

The quake was felt in northern China, with emergency sirens blaring in Yanji, near the North Korean border, according to local media. That would be 3:30 p.m.in Seoul and Tokyo, and 2:30 a.m. EDT.

Despite the global pressure, however, missile and nuclear tests have continued unabated. The photo could not be independently verified.

"(We) are closely monitoring the North Korean military's move under South Korea-U.S. coordination".

The state media announcement follows a seismic tremor that was detected Sunday evening indicating that North Korea had conducted a sixth nuclear test. That was revised up from an initial report of 5.6.

Blind player snaps extra point during USC's victory
Make no mistake, this wasn't your vanilla extra point in the waning moments of a 49-31 Trojans victory. Under new coach Tim Lester , Western Michigan stayed even with USC through three quarters.

According to North Korea's official news agency KCNA, the nation "recently succeeded" in developing a more advanced hydrogen bomb.

There are concerns North Korea has conducted yet another nuclear test, despite repeated global warnings not to, after a magnitude 6.3 explosion was detected in the country.

U.S. monitors measured a 6.3-magnitude "explosion" near the North's main testing site at Punggye-ri.

NORTH Korea has confirmed it has tested a thermonuclear bomb with "complete success".

The quake came just hours after North Korea claimed that its leader has inspected the loading of a hydrogen bomb into a new intercontinental ballistic missile.

The US and its allies attempt to detect blast material to gauge North Korea's progress, but Pyongyang has become better at containing it as its nuclear programme has evolved.

The key question is how far North Korea has gotten in efforts to consistently shrink down nuclear warheads so they can fit on long-range missiles.

South Korea's presidential office said Pyongyang may have conducted its long awaited sixth nuclear test.

He said the two leaders agreed that pressure must be stepped up on Pyongyang.
