Microsoft could release an Xbox One X 'Project Scorpio' edition

Xbox One X Day One Edition Surfaced

Despite ditching the wonderful Project Scorpio codename in favour of Xbox One X, Microsoft could use the moniker to brand a special edition version of the forthcoming console.

The controller and the console both carry "Project Scorpio" branding in green lettering as well. If we had to guess, we'd bet that there will be a period of time that you can purchase packs of these guys for a chance to win an Xbox One X. Now where's the Mountain Dew?!

When Microsoft announced the Xbox One X during E3 2017, it was official.

Xboxdynasty also reported that German marketplace Saturn.de had a similar listing, but has since removed it.

NASA looks forward to solar eclipse, says homemade viewing options exist
There's a total solar eclipse in the continental United States on August 21st, for the first time in almost 40 years. Canadians will get to see what could be a once-in-a-lifetime event for many: a partial solar eclipse on Monday.

Though the listing doesn't say anything about what the Day One Edition includes, it does apparently say that pre-purchasers will net some extras. Of course, as with all leaks, take it with a grain of salt. The images show a clear "Project Scorpio" embedded vertically on the Xbox controller, along with a stippled pattern for the rectangular console itself. Microsoft has also done this before, launching a Day One Edition of the Xbox One in 2013. Amazon US and Amazon UK are still listing the Xbox One X as before.

Expect to hear more about Xbox One X next week during Gamescom.

According to the Verge, pre-orders will go live thereafter. If Microsoft announces the Project Scorpio Edition during Gamescom, there's a high chance you can pre-order one for yourself come Sunday, too.
