Eric Bolling Is Allegedly Suing a HuffPo Writer For Defamation

Yashar Ali is being sued over stories about sexual harassment via text message

Suspended Fox News host Eric Bolling fired back at the sexting allegations aimed against him by suing the reporter who broke the story.

Yashar Ali tweeted that he is being personally sued by Bolling for $50 million in damages for the story which led to the Fox reporter's suspension on Saturday.

The summons accuses Ali of "reckless publication of actionable false and misleading statements about the plaintiff's conduct and character".

Ali wrote Wednesday on Twitter that he has received a summons from Bolling and says he stands by his reporting and will protect his sources.

The summons, which was filed Wednesday in NY state court, says Bolling is seeking both damages and injunctive relief arising from Ali's efforts to injure his reputation through "intentional and/or highly reckless publication of actionable false and misleading statements" about his conduct and character.

Bolling is represented by Michael Bowe - a lawyer from the same firm as Marc Kasowitz, President Trump's personal attorney until July.

Fox News said over the weekend that Bolling had been suspended "pending the results of an investigation".

North Korea Frees Canadian Pastor Sentenced to Life of Hard Labor
Mr Lim's family said he had travelled to Pyongyang in January 2015 to build a nursing home, nursery and orphanage. His release came one day after a special envoy of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived in the North.

In the same article, Ali mentioned that Bolling had criticized NY congressman Anthony Weiner for his own involvement in a "sexting" controversy.

Ali's reporting relied exclusively on anonymous sources.

The alleged lawsuit came within a day of Bolling telling his followers on Twitter, "I look forward to clearing my name asap".

Last week, Ali wrote Bolling sent unsolicited lewd text messages to three women at Fox News and Fox Business in a story citing 14 anonymous sources.

"We stand by his reporting", HuffPost Editor-in-Chief Lydia Polgreen tweeted.

21st Century Fox says it has made sweeping changes to its human resources practices as a result of the Ailes scandal. Fox Business host Charles Payne is now suspended, pending the outcome of an investigation into his own sex harassment charges.

One of those accusers is Caroline Heldman, who was a frequent contributor on Fox News between 2008 and 2011. Among them was longtime conservative star Bill O'Reilly, who was ousted from Fox earlier this year after the New York Times revealed that he had settled sexual harassment claims with five women over the past 15 years. Last summer the network's founder, Roger Ailes, was forced from his leadership position after former anchor Gretchen Carlson accused him of sexual harassment.
