Federal Report Warns Of Climate Change Dangers, Now Awaits Trump Administration Approval

The report is the first major study of climate change of this scope the Trump White House has faced in its seven months in office, and scientists anxious the administration - filled with climate change deniers and friends of the fossil fuel industry - would change, hide or otherwise discredit the report before the public could see it.

The former SC governor was asked on NBC's "Today" show about a new climate change report from government scientists at 13 federal agencies.

An anonymous government scientist who contributed to the federal report said that he and his colleagues were anxious that the Trump administration would bury the data and reprimand employees who shared it.

The team also said that to be able to prevent global mean temperature from increasing more than 2 degrees Celsius by the end of this century, we need to significantly reduce global carbon dioxide levels.

"Evidence for a changing climate abounds, from the top of the atmosphere to the depths of the oceans", the draft stated.

"I think it is time for an update and it does help frame the discussion in Canada which is often about the incremental costs of new policies like a carbon tax without that counter weight".

Clinton, Mo., police officer shot, killed during traffic stop; manhunt underway
McCarthy's auto was found abandoned a short distance from the scene of the shooting after it hit an embankment. The patrol said a suspect was able to flee the scene on foot, and as of right now his location is unknown.

After Trump claimed that climate change is a "hoax" and claiming that 13 federal agencies have provided documentation that is "unambigious" regarding climate change, scientists are upping their game.

Even if society immediately stopped emitting greenhouse gases, the world temperature is still predicted to rise an additional 0.50 degrees Fahrenheit by about 2100. More severe storms, a shrinking ice pack and loss of sea life make for a plain-to-see picture. It projects a near-term rise of temperature in the United States by 2.5 degrees F (1.4 degrees C). According to the report, average temperatures in the USA have risen dramatically since the 1980s, and the past few decades have been the warmest of the last 1,500 years.

Two months after Trump announced the United States would abandon the 2015 global pact, his administration confirmed it had informed the United Nations of its "intent to withdraw from the Paris Agreement" - a process that will take at least until 2020.

After taking over as president, Trump pulled the USA out of the Paris Agreement on climate change, saying it unfairly favoured some countries like India and China. These maps show the projected change in average annual temperatures in the US depending on the concentration of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere. Heavy rainfall events have become more frequent and more intense since 1901 in most parts of the US, and that's particularly true for the Northeastern US.

Hayhoe, director of the Climate Science Center at Texas Tech and a professor of political science, was also a contributor to the Second National Climate Assessment in 2009 and the Third National Climate Assessment in 2014.

The world is warming - and warming at an accelerating rate, argue the scientists from national laboratories, NASA, NOAA, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the department of Energy and Environmental Protection, and other key groups. The accord has been signed by more than 190 countries and ratified by 159.
