Back at Build 2016 past year Microsoft introduced the prototype version of Seeing AI, an app which assists the vision-impaired.

To use the app, the user must point their phone's camera, select a channel and then hear a description of what the phone's camera sees.

The Seeing AI app is able to do all of these using artificial intelligence.

In a video demonstrating the app's abilities, the app described a young woman with glasses by saying: '28-year-old female, wearing glasses, looking happy'.

Auburn's Wiley has double-double, but Canada beats Team USA
Additionally, the USA force Germany into 23 turnovers that led to 20 points. "I don't think anyone played poorly". The Americans had a 62-53 rebound advantage and grabbed 30 offensive boards leading to 22 second-chance points.

The Seeing AI app is very simple to use. The app is even capable of scanning and reading documents as well as recognizing U.S. dollar bills.

Microsoft's Seeing AI app can also work with other apps too.

The app will also soon have a feature that identifies currency bills soon, according to Microsoft. When identifying a document, Seeing AI will audibly guide you through the capture process to help you get the full document in view.

Microsoft's Seeing AI app can be used as a scanner to scan bar codes of products - and, when available, give more information about the product. This will let the Seeing AI app recognize what's happening in a picture that the user just captured. Advanced features like describing an entire scene or recognizing hand-written documents still require a connection to the cloud to function though. Folks in the United States can download this app for the iPhone starting today. Under the leadership of Eric Horvitz, the new Microsoft Research AI program is created to bring together around 100 people who specialize in different technologies categorized under AI, instead of having them spread out in Microsoft AI and Research, which includes around 6,000 people, a Microsoft spokesman said. It hasn't said if and when the Android version is going to be out.
