Cosby prosecutor fights release of juror names

Bill Cosby favoured to walk after retrial, but new jury may be more eager to convict

After a jury said it was 'hopelessly deadlocked, ' Judge Steven O'Neill declared a mistrial in the Bill Cosby sexual assault case. The judge said he would try to schedule a new trial within 120 days.

Cosby's team declared victory and went on the attack. "It has been restored", said Andrew Wyatt, his spokesman.

Camille Cosby had harsh words for the judge, prosecutor and media.

The final ruling resulted after district attorneys struggled to obtain 13 different witnesses having the ability to testify against Cosby. She said that he was unaware that all of them were merely pawns in the situation, vaguely exposing the rape culture in America.

Cosby himself didn't comment.

The entertainer walked out of court a free man on Saturday, not because he was cleared of sexual assault charges, but because a jury decided that it could not reach a verdict on charges.

He sympathized with Constand, who also took the stand during the six-day trial. "She's entitled to a verdict in this case".

"The key to retrying a case is to do it differently the second time, because the defense expects you to do it the same way", said Troiani, whose client is on board for a retrial.

In it, Cosby referred to Gianna as "mom" as he recalled in graphic detail that he gave her daughter, then 31, an orgasm.

It wasn't immediately known how many jurors wanted to convict and how many wanted to acquit. I can talk down to you because I had a successful sitcom.' Yeah, but you raped women, Bill Cosby.

Trump to announce plan to stop cash flow to Cuban military
The report of al-Baghdadi's death comes as the Islamic State suffers major setbacks in which it has lost wide swaths of territory. Russian state media reports Al-Baghdadi may have been killed in the May 28 airstrike near the Syrian city of Raqqa.

He reminded prosecutors and the defense that "a mistrial is neither vindication nor victory for anybody".

Cosby was charged with three felony counts of aggravated indecent assault stemming from a woman's allegations that he drugged and violated her at his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004. "Overtly arrogant, collaborating with the district attorney", said her statement, which was tweeted by her husband and read by an associate of the public relations firm representing Cosby. "We're here because of them", McMonagle said, shouting and pointing at the back of the courtroom, where other accusers were sitting.

Cosby broke barriers as the first black actor to star in a network show, "I Spy", in the 1960s and created the top-ranked "Cosby Show" two decades later, starring as kindly Dr. Cliff Huxtable. He also found success with his "Fat Albert" animated TV show and starred in commercials for Jell-O pudding.

"We're only here because of those unproven accusations, and I believe and I know in my heart that the judge will not reverse his decision, will give us a fair trial as he just did", McMonagle said. Prosecutors suggested he drugged her with something stronger. Prosecutors are trying to keep them a secret.

A decade later, another district attorney reopened the investigation after Cosby's lurid testimony about drugs and sex became public, and dozens of women came forward against one of the most beloved stars in all of show business. It didn't help that the statute of limitations had expired for some of Cosby's other accusers. Constand maintains romance was never part of her relationship to Cosby.

She once served on a jury where the foreperson was the lone holdout for an acquittal.

"This isn't talking to a trustee".

But in the aggregate, he said, Cosby could face a comparable award because of the number of alleged victims.

"There are some things in this case that should be fuzzy. Why?" The case ended with a hung jury that was unable to decide whether or not to convict Cosby.
