Canada's Brooke Henderson wins Meijer LPGA Classic

Brooke Henderson stumbles late, keeps Meijer LPGA lead

Brooke Henderson wasn't complaining about her position on the leaderboard after dropping down into a tie for second place at the Meijer LPGA Classic on Saturday.

The 19-year-old from Smiths Falls, Ont., fired a bogey-free 66 in the final round for a 17-under-par 263 and a two-shot victory over Michelle Wie and Lexi Thompson.

Thompson, who has shown unbelievable resilience to bounce back from the heartache and controversy surrounding the four shot penalty she incurred during the final round of the ANA Inspiration, completed a round of 64 to come from two off the 36 hole pace to take the lead into the final round.

Shin reeled off five birdies in a row to move one behind Thompson.

Lydia Ko has clawed her way back up the leaderboard at the Meijer Classic in MI with a flawless five-under 64.

Henderson had seven birdies and three bogeys in the second round, leaving her at 12-under 130 overall.

"Two bogeys to finish, but that just gives me a little more motivation going into tomorrow", said Henderson. "I had a good front nine, I was hitting it very solid, so I was just trying to stay positive with myself".

Golden Knights 'willing to negotiate deals' so National Hockey League teams can protect assets
The Predators were put in a bind by exposing Neal, a 10-time 20-goal-scorer, because they elected to protect a fourth defenseman. So, with all that in mind, here are the players the Bruins are expected to protect when the list is submitted and made public.

Thompson, coming off a crushing playoff loss on Sunday, got straight back in the saddle with five consecutive mid-round birdies en route to her 64.

"On a day like today when you don't know if you're going to have further rain delays or how the course is playing, I think it was really important to hit the fairways and I think that I was doing pretty well out there", Ko said.

"I struck my irons really, really well", Pace said.

Her successor, Thailand's Ariya Jutanugarn (69), was eight off the pace.

New Zealand's Lydia Ko, at No.2 after an 85-week run at the top was ended by Ariya, was two shots ahead of the Thai on 136. "It's made me play better the last couple of years".

Flooding caused the par five 5th hole to be played as a par three, which saw the course played as a par 69, meaning Thompson's round of 5-under par under was in fact a 64.
