Trump tells senators House health bill 'mean'

President Donald Trump speaks before having lunch with Republican Senators and White House staffers in the Cabinet Room of the White House in Washington Tuesday

Senate GOP leaders are now writing their healthcare bill, though Democrats and even some fellow Republicans have not seen any of the legislative text. "Nobody is hiding the ball here. You're free to ask anybody anything".

"But we want to brag about the plan, because this plan really - uh oh", Trump began before he was cut off by a laughing audience.

The senator said Trump didn't state many policy preferences but said people with pre-existing conditions should be protected and spoke about making tax credits apply to lower-income people rather than allocated exclusively by age as the House bill did.

"But, what I will say is he does believe, and I think, we can improve upon the House product ... and get a bill that is more workable for the American people", Thune added.

The President will likely accept whatever they come up with - "Pretty obviously (he's) not a details guy", one Republican aide said - but will eventually be called on to help rally support for the final product. When the CBO did issue its report, three weeks after the House rammed its bill through, it estimated that the House's handiwork would mean that 23 million more Americans would be without health coverage than under the current law.

Nevertheless, Republicans beat Democrats over the head with all kinds of distortions ("We were railroaded!") and fibs ("Death panels!") about Obamacare. In all, 20 Republicans voted against the AHCA and it squeaked through the House by a vote of 217-213. This time, neither chamber has held even one hearing.

Republicans in the Senate are said to be crafting their own healthcare bill in private, due to concerns with the AHCA.

In an ideal world, legislation of this magnitude would be shared widely with the American public with ample time to study it and know how it would affect them. But at least have the decency, honor, a little bit of courage. "Because he put all sorts of pressure on us to move the bill we passed".

10.5-inch iPad Pro confirmed to have 4GB of RAM
The four speaker system is fantastic, and honestly, is one of the big reasons to opt for a Pro iPad over a "standard" iPad. The truly unusual thing about this year's release of the new iPad Pro is it nearly feel like they released them too early.

Republican members who didn't serve on the relevant committees weren't able to see drafts of the legislation.

"I don't think so", Hatch said.

It was generally assumed that the bill didn't have much of a chance in the Senate. To the contrary, the ACA passed after months of revisions, amendments, public hearings and debates about the bill.

"I have none planned", Alexander said. Last Tuesday, Anthem announced it would pull out of the Obamacare marketplace in OH, potentially leaving individual insurance-buyers in about a fifth of the state's counties without Affordable Care Act coverage to purchase.

There seems to be agreement, however on protecting people with pre-existing conditions. Trump has said he might consider withholding them but insurers say that would wreak havoc in the markets. John Hoeven, a North Dakota Republican taking part in the negotiations. "It's an important part of the health care program, but I think people in the country are deeply anxious about what is happening to the health care system".

"I've been talking about repealing and replacing Obamacare now for nearly two years", he said.

Trump said Tuesday healthcare reform will happen "as soon as we can". "That's not good. We're trying to do it from a one-party perspective because no Democrat is willing to help us". A recent study found that adults in rural and small-town Kentucky are more dependent on Medicaid for their health care than their counterparts in nearly any other state. "But it's the way we're having to do it". The Senate is aso looking at slowing down the rollback of Obamacare's Medicaid expansion by several years. Ron Johnson, R-Wisconsin. Lisa Murkowski and Maine Sen. "I mean it", Trump gushed.
