Pence Hires Outside Counsel to Handle Russia Probe Questions

Pence offers prayers for Scalise praise for police officers

With news reports that the Special Counsel investigating election interference in 2016 by Russian Federation is looking at possible obstruction of justice by President Donald Trump, Mr. Trump expressed frustration Thursday at the prospect of that review, again taking to Twitter to denounce the probe as a "witch hunt", and complaining that Hillary Clinton should be the subject of a Russia-related investigation, not him. Moscow denies meddling in the campaign. He represented Tom DeLay, a Texas Republican and former majority leader of the U.S. House of Representatives, during the investigation into corrupt Washington lobbyist Jack Abramoff. He then singled out the two U.S. Capitol police agents, Crystal Griner and David Bailey. DeLay was not charged.

Vice President Mike Pence noted the presence of 85,000 gang members in those three countries, which make up Central America's so-called "Northern Triangle", and said their activities "radiate outward and reach the United States" while most USA -bound drugs flow through Central America.

"The Vice President is focused entirely on his duties and promoting the President agenda and looks forward to a swift conclusion of this matter", Agen said.

Pence picked the attorney earlier this week, following a several-week selection process that included interviews with several possible choices, an aide told the newspaper.

The news of Cullen's hiring was first reported by the Washington Post.

In a tweet Thursday morning, Trump called the Post's report "phony". They made up a phony collusion with the Russians story, found zero proof, so now they go for obstruction of justice on the phony story. The investigation is also looking into whether or not the Trump campaign colluded with Moscow.

Why Fox News Is Finally Dropping Its Ridiculous "Fair & Balanced" Slogan
A Fox News spokesperson told NY that the new tagline won't have any effect on the channel's editorial policies or its programming. After resigning from his position, he reportedly went on to advise then-presidential candidate Donald Trump who defended Ailes.

Pence has said very little publicly about the probe.

Cullen, for what it's worth, is the godfather of one of former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey's daughters.

Pence's announcement comes after several weeks of deliberations, featuring several candidates, an administration official said, adding that no taxpayer money will be used.

While a sitting president is unlikely to face criminal prosecution, obstruction of justice could form the basis for impeachment.

The president has come under further scrutiny for his decision to fire FBI Director James B. Comey, a decision Trump later seemed to imply was related, in part, to the Russian Federation probe that Comey was overseeing.
