The dark side of May 4: Storm trooper causes alarm at school

May the Fourth be with you this Star Wars Day

Students were evacuated from the school and were transported to the middle school and a nearby church.

A brief evacuation at a Wisconsin high school on Thursday morning was caused by a student who showed up on campus in a "Star Wars" costume, according to Ashwaubenon Public Safety.

Police say a passer-by saw the student wearing a Darth Vader costume with what they believed was a bulletproof vest, and became anxious. We have to take all of this stuff very seriously'.

After a check of the school, authorities gave the all clear and found that it was just someone wearing a costume for 'May The Fourth Be With You, ' otherwise known as Star Wars Day.

School officials and police immediately asked students and teachers to gather at designated rally points instead of remaining or entering the building for fear of another school shooting incident. "But once I got through high school and the girls were digging it, I thought, 'I can use this to my advantage'".

The coins cost 132,300 yen, or $1,200.2017 marks the 40th anniversary of "Star Wars IV: A New Hope", the film that kicked off the franchise.

Happy Press Freedom Day, Now Stop Calling Trump a Cheeto

Public Safety did a sweep through the High School.

On Thursday - as "Star Wars" fans celebrated their favorite space-opera franchise - the Russian Embassy in the United Kingdom got in on the fun with a tweet imploring the public to join them.

"Thanks for your understanding as we maintain our number one priority of keeping students safe", wrote the district.

"The real story here is she didn't realize he was dressed as Darth Vader", said another user.

Another user on the school's post defended the parent's decision to err on the side of caution. His parents gave it to him at birth in 1978, less than a year after the original "Star Wars" came out.
