It's being used by police to try to expose who murdered her.

Connie and Richard Dabate

More than a year after Connie's death, police say that they were able to track down a key piece of evidence: her Fitbit.

The Evening Standard reports that when Connie Dabate was killed in her home in Connecticut, America, her husband described in detail how a "tall, obese" intruder had broken into the house wearing "camouflage and a mask". Prosecutors say her husband's alibi that a masked intruder attacked him first and then went after his wife just doesn't add up.

But police said her Fitbit device tells a different story of the events that lead to her death on December 23, 2015.

A murdered CT woman may not be able to point out the person who killed her, but police say data obtained from her FitBit fitness tracker helped lead to the arrest of her husband.

Now Connecticut authorities have charged Mr Dabate with murder, tampering with physical evidence and making false statements.

Dabate claimed he was tied to the chair after the man had murdered his wife, but scared the intruder off by kicking a blowtorch at his head.

Derek Jeter, Jeb Bush win auction for Miami Marlins
When Jeter, who lives in Tampa, retired after the 2014 season, he expressed interest in owning a baseball franchise. A source told the Herald that Bush would be the "control person", and would have ultimate control of the franchise.

But appearances can be deceiving and police will allege Richard "Rick" Dabate was anything but a devoted husband; he wanted his wife dead. As police investigated the case it became obvious that there was more to the story than was initially revealed. "We can also get the information much faster than some other types of evidence such as DNA cases". He also withdrew $93,000 from her investment account. Her Fitbit tracker indicates her last movements in the home at 10:05. Furthermore, according to the investigators, the woman was quite active that morning on Facebook, browsing and uploading posts at 9:40 am and, respectively, at 9:46 am.

He was reportedly having an affair for seven years with an unidentified woman, who was seven months pregnant at the time of the murder.

The only thing the husband appears to have been truthful about is the time of when the pressed the panic button and when he called 911 from his phone. The man is now being held at a CT jail on a $1 million bond.

Dabate is free after posting $1 million bail but is expected in court on Friday.

Computer data showed that Dabate sent an email telling his boss that he would be late at 9:04 and, by 9:18, checked the page with the class schedules on the website of the YMCA.
