NEW YORK (AP) — One of Bill O'Reilly's accusers says she felt triumphant when the Fox News Channel host was sacked following an investigation into claims of harassment by women.

Protestors rallied to get Bill O'Reilly fired and advertisers jumped ship after a New York Times reported that Fox News paid $13 million in settlements to women accusing O'Reilly of harassment.

Fox announced Thursday its resident pro-life anti-LGBTQ bigot Tucker Carlson would succeed O'Reilly. His nightly program, "The O'Reilly Factor, " generated high ratings and pulled in hundreds of millions in advertising revenues.

O'Reilly, Hannity (with and without Alan B. Colmes) and Greta van Susteren led three hours of programming that won more and more viewers as the years passed on, eventually drawing more audience than rival CNN. O'Reilly left under a cloud of controversy and allegations of sexual harassment. CNN and other news sources cited a confidentiality agreement between the disgraced host and the right wing network.

Media Matters released this statement from Angelo Carusone: "Fox News was forced to act".

Trump's most ardent defender on Fox, Sean Hannity, remains at 10 p.m. ET.

Britain's Queen Elizabeth celebrates 91st birthday
The United Kingdom's Queen Elizabeth II, who is the oldest and longest-reining monarch , turns 91 today. She's has been a part of the fabric of British and Commonwealth life for as long as anyone can remember.

O'Reilly's departure followed last year's resignation of Roger Ailes, the CEO who founded Fox News Channel in 1996.

Ailes and O'Reilly have denied the allegations. That's because Fox incorporated language in the new contract that gave the network some "outs".

"After a thorough and careful review of the allegations against him, the Company and Bill O'Reilly have agreed that Mr. O'Reilly will not return to the Fox News Channel", Rupert, James and Lachlan wrote in a letter addressed to their employees. This law firm has uncovered evidence that the smear campaign is being orchestrated by far-left organization bent on destroying O'Reilly for political and financial reasons.

"When I met him he said, 'When I went to college, professors didn't look like you, '" she told Inside Edition.

"He always walked past my desk and he made like a grunting noise", Burgess said, though she initially brushed it off as a muscle spasm.

"It's very cathartic", she said.
