21st Century Fox investigating O'Reilly harassment claims

Fox News and Bill O’Reilly have paid $13 million to five women who accused him of sexual harassment the New York Times reported last weekend

Fox News' parent company, 21st Century Fox, will investigate the news network over the sexual harassment claims against Bill O'Reilly, a lawyer said Sunday.

"I told them I really appreciate that and let's get going as soon as possible", she said.

Also played by Baldwin, Trump, a man "unimpeachable on all female issues", told the host, "I actually see a lot of myself in you, Bill". Walsh, a former Fox News guest, says O'Reilly rescinded a promise to make her a contributor after she rebuffed him.

Bloom's announcement comes days after she and the accuser, Wendy Walsh, recorded themselves reporting O'Reilly to Fox News' corporate complaint hotline.

Walsh was one of the women featured in a recent New York Times exposé regarding allegations of sexual harassment made against O'Reilly as well as the almost $13 million that O'Reilly and Fox had paid to settle the claims out of court. After she refused an invitation to go to O'Reilly's hotel suite in 2013, a New York Times investigation found, he did not follow through on securing her a job at Fox News.

"Dr. Walsh is not seeking any money", Bloom said.

Last week, even President Trump came to O'Reilly's defense, telling reporters that the Fox News host was "a good person" who "shouldn't have settled" the lawsuits. O'Reilly seemed to be protected by the network, but that was when they were able to keep the allegations against him private.

He's been playing well for us the entire season. "But our inside guys have played well in the NCAA tournament". Our team has been exposed to everything: size, athleticism, winning, losing, good, bad, suspensions.

The O'Reilly character answered, "That's based upon?" with the Trump character replying: "A hunch, just a loose hunch."I'm more familiar with this case than I am with, say, health care".

Walsh said she came forward because she was told by a Times reporter that numerous women who have accused O'Reilly of harassment are bound by gag orders.

So far, Fox News has made it clear that they have no real interest in punishing O'Reilly for his criminal activity. He also said that there were no official complaints at Fox News' Human Resources department against him.

"Nobody can silence me, because my voice is not for sale", she said.

Walsh is one of several women who have made claims of sexual harassment against O'Reilly.

In response, dozens of advertisers on Fox elected to pull their ads from the "O'Reilly Factor" time slot.

Advertisers who chose to abandon O'Reilly include Mercedes, H&R Block, Constant Contact, and Allstate Insurance.
