Media not taking the Bill O'Reilly cases seriously

At last count around to 50 sponsors have left the show, after an investigative story in the New York Times alleges five women received settlements from Fox News and O'Reilly totaling some $13 million after making misconduct accusations against the top-rated host.

According to New York Magazine, four sources at Fox News said that O'Reilly's days at the network may be numbered - and that number might even be zero.

According to Sherman, the CEO "feels that sexual harassment scandal is really a stain on the company". 21st Century Fox declined to comment on that report. They have the option of going into other TV shows, and those "stand by" advertisers who have fewer alternatives.

Or as O'Reilly put it, "I shouldn't be laughing, but it's just so freaky".

Two of the settlements were made after Roger Ailes resigned as Chairman of Fox News. On Fridays, the network will air "Friday Factor" with a rotating lineup of hosts.

Fox executives said many advertisers in "O'Reilly Factor" have had their commercials re-expressed in other Fox shows.

Republicans' narrow win for Kansas seat embolden Democrats
All those GOP calls prompted Charlene Health, a 52-year-old homemaker and Republican in Belle Plaine, to cast a ballot for Estes. And the vote could portend good news for Democrats in the next election - next week's Georgia contest to succeed Tom Price.

Fox News parent Twenty-First Century Fox Inc FOXA.O is investigating sexual harassment claims against O'Reilly, who has said that he was unfairly targeted because of his public prominence.

The vacation - which O'Reilly said had always been planned and which is supposed to end in time for him to return to his program on April 24 - began less than two weeks after The New York Times reported that O'Reilly, Fox News and parent company 21st Century Fox had paid out $13 million to settle claims with five women who had accused the host of sexual harassment.

Responding to the report, O'Reilly said the harassment claims were false, and were the result of him having a high-profile job that makes him a target. I'm offended by the coverups, and I'm offended by the remarks O'Reilly made towards Congresswoman Waters last month. Tantaros is a former Fox News host. The Fox News chairman was given a massive payout previous year to leave the network after those allegations - all of which he has denied.

So, while the timing of O'Reilly's departure has ginned up speculation it might be permanent, there is no concrete sign O'Reilly won't be keeping his promise to return on April 24.
