Rock County Sheriff Robert Spoden said Friday that the suspect, 32-year-old Joseph Jakubowski, also sent an anti-government manifesto to the White House. Authorities say the fire and the burglary are connected. Spoden said the auto belonged to Jakubowski.

On Tuesday police found Jakubowski's vehicle on fire not far from where the gun store theft took place, according to NBC News.

It was not immediately clear whether the White House received the manifesto.

At a press conference on Friday (7 April), police said the suspect was "highly agitated" by recent United States politics and an acquaintance of his alleged that Jakubowski had spoken of a plot to steal firearms and launch an unspecified attack.
